In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the book, Textured Tresses, we recently celebrated with an in-person event at OMhh Beauty Oasis in Brooklyn, NY. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with SimpleeCBD Herbal Blend Tea Tasting, Tea & Tingz Hibiscus Ginger Sorrel Bubbly, and delicious Jamaican lite bites and more. It was a night dedicated to embracing the beauty of natural hair, reflecting on its history, and looking forward to its future. It was a wonderful celebration of the legacy and future of natural hair, bringing together the community to honor two decades of empowering natural hair care with Diane Da Costa's groundbreaking book.

What a lovely evening we had with Diane. We mixed and mingled, and had yummy bits accompanied by cod fish cakes, sorrel & rum or non spiked and desserts. The magic happened when Diane began to read and share her professional life as a licensed stylist. She accomplished much in her life- it was fascinating! Co-author, Paula read and shared as well. We loved her giving us references to some of the passages in the book.
The evening was blessed with a heavy downpour of rain (renewal & growth). Our guest still showed up wet and all. No worries we had robes for those that were wet 😜. Our guests shared hair stories, asked great questions, and got prizes for answering questions correctly. Upon leaving, each guest received a gift bag and I thanked them for coming.
