NHBC co-founders, Natasha Gaspard and Erin H. Maybin share personal stories and lessons learned, from the empowerment that comes with loving and embracing natural hair to demands for real media representation of Black beauty. During the show, they engage in a gamut of discussions involving Black beauty with her guests. Historically, Eurocentric beauty standards, personal battles to embrace natural hair, and powerful media impacting beauty perceptions are discussed. Media producer and NHBC VP of  Media & Communications,  Natasha Gaspard, explained how going natural altered her  life by giving her  freedom and the ability to love herself. Maybin adds, "As the media representations of Black women have changed over time, what is needed is not tokenization; what is needed is genuine representation." Diane C. Bailey, a frequent contributor, urges society to normalize natural hair and combat discrimination. She suggested creating a National Humanitarian Beauty Coalition to promote inclusive beauty culture.
